Let all guests who arrive be received like Christ, for He is going to say, „I came as a guest, and you received Me“ (Matt. 25:35)
(Rule of Benedict, Chapter 53.1)

Place

Pannonhalma, the Cseider-Valley. Located north from the tourist visitor centre on the Kosaras hill, the site of three acres used to house the steam laundry of the Abbey, that was built in the beginning of 1900-s. The quiet grove offers an ideal place for welcoming and dwelling the guests of the Abbey, such as pilgrims, families and youth groups.

Community buildings and dwellings

The different units of the Pilgrim House are located separately, using the makings of the location. The buliding of the steam laundry was pulled down due to its poor condition. The common rooms (dining hall, lecture hall and service rooms) are located in the refurbished housing unit and a new building. The dwellings were placed on the grovy slopes of the southern part of the site. Three of the four houses are for youth groups, each containing a room for 16 and a room for 2 persons, both with their own bathroom. The fourth house, that is for families, has three units: two for 6 persons and a hermit dwelling for one, all having an en-suite bathroom and a small kitchen. The room for one offers a quiet place for resting and preparation of the lecturers and leaders of retreats held here. In case of public events or for those camping next to the houses there is a washroom in every building that can be used from the outside. The dwellings can shelter 67 people at the same time.
