CRAB - Peter Cook and Gavin Robotham
CRAB is the Cook Robotham Architectural Bureau (http://www.crab-studio.com)
The Cook Robotham Architectural Bureau was established in 2006 by direc- tors Professor Sir Peter Cook and Gavin Robotham.
Sir Peter Cook is Archigram Royal Gold Medallist of the RIBA, former director of the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture and was Kenzo Tange Professor at Harvard. Gavin Robotham was Knox Scholar at Harvard.
Of different generations, they were able to draw on a very wide range of experience. From making a startlingly original and popular public building (Peter, with Colin Fournier) : the Kunsthaus in Graz, or making a Stirling Prize-winning interior (Gavin, with the Event Co. and Wilkinson Eyre) : the Magna Science Centre in Rotherham; through to housing, educational and exhibit on work.
In the years of its existence, CRAB buildings have received numerous awards from the RIBA, AIA, WAF and other bodies and have been published in nearly every country of the World.
CRAB studio has become world renowned for delivering complex and inno- vative buildings and landscapes at a variety of scales. They have a signi cant reputation in providing technical solutions that have led to the completion of projects of notable design and quality, while still working within strict con ne- ments of tight time and budget. Notable projects include the Abedian School of Architecture in Australia and Department of Law and Central Administration in Austria and recently completed Drawing Studio for Arts University Bour- nemouth.
Built projects and competitions run in tandem, with ideas being developed and passed back-and forth between them. Yet each project is deliberately calibrated towards the culture or community for which it is intended.
At CRAB studio, no con guration, combination of techniques or materials is creatively rejected without investigation.
