For the majority of tourists arriving here, the name of Pannonhalma means heritage. However, beside the architectural styles of old times the strong presence of contemporary architecture appears in the monastery. This suggests a community living here (a community as a „client“), which is ready to change together with time and is open the present. The Romanesque basilica, the Gothic cloister, the Baroque buildings of the monastery, the neo-classical tower and library were all created at the highest architectural and technical quality of their times. And perhaps it is not surprising in this context - indeed, it may also appear evident - that the new buildings realized in the last decades implemented the refined world of contemporary architecture in Pannonhalma. This world is closely linked to the simplicity of the Puritan religious tradition. It seems that the new buildings of the Archabbey of Pannonhalma aroused interest in the architectural profession and the wider public.
