Ensemble

Cultural-touristic complex, Mokrin

An invited competition resulted in the young architects of Studio AUTORI to design the cultural-tourist ensemble of the Terra Pannonica Company in Mokrin, a small town in northern Serbia, in the Vojvodina region. These types of villages are characterized by regular communication infrastructure, organization of buildings on the plots and typology of buildings. The concept of Terra Panonica estate is to interpret the ambient in a contemporary way, in order to give new meaning to the term village estate. It is planned to consist of four houses of which two have been completed until now, House B and House A.

House B was completed in 2011, as an office and studio space for workshops and creative activities. House A was completed in 2012, as a guest house with apartments and communal spaces for relaxation and socialization.

The architects faced a challenging task because of the manifold demands of the company, which is engaged in marketing authentic local produce and food, in modern design packaging, and developing new trends in high-end tourism. The architects were required to design offices for the company and educational facilities and to treat the existing complex of buildings with respect. The basic idea was to offer an interconnected cluster of facilities for culture, art and the exchange of knowledge and experience, accommodating participants and visitors, in particular young professionals from the region.
