The Life Science Research Centre, containing 150 specific research labs and a science library, was built on the „Nagyerdei“ Campus in Debrecen, at the end of Egyetem Avenue, beneath the monumentally historic main building planned by Flóris Korb. This collaborative development by the Agricultural, Medical and Science Faculties specialises in genetic research and education.The gateway responds to the urban axis, the foyer to the scale of the main building, the comb-formed disposition to the functional requirements of the laboratories’ matrix arrangement. The spatial tension between the library and the separately located laboratory building defines a unique force field in the campus courtyard.
