Former Albrecht Tavern conversion

Once a famous Albrecht family restaurant and cafe that belong to the atmosphere of Bratislava at the beginning of the 20the century now faced the need of reuse and reconstruction in order to provide boutique hotel at unique location in the villas quarter above the castle. The symmetry of the overall space distribution offered the central care building with dominant height and side wings that follow the geometry of the site and delimit a small front square. The original function was enriched by a wider program of hotel with spa and relaxes facilities. Partially covered terrace expands the restaurant and cafe floor area at the street level. The reception hall gives entrance to the hotel rooms on the upper levels and downstairs to the new form of wellness zone inserted on place of the former terrace. Sophisticated extravagancy of the architecťs intervention fits within the limits of values given by the original piece. Michal Škrovina
